We’re looking for a Technical Manager to lead the review, redesign and ongoing management of our Quality Management System (QMS). You’ll make sure our technical policies, procedures and documents are clear, consistent, compliant, and easy to use across the business. This is a fixed-term role for 9 months focused on simplifying processes, improving how we work, and making sure we meet legal and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full redesign and implementation of the QMS
  • Create a clear structure for policies, procedures, guidance and templates
  • Rewrite and maintain technical policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure all documentation is simple, consistent, and aligned to legal and audit standards
  • Put strong document control in place (version control, approvals and review cycles)
  • Make sure the QMS supports due diligence and compliance requirements
  • Align systems to recognised standards (e.g. BRCGS principles)
  • Embed QMS into key business processes (product lifecycle, supplier management, incidents/recalls)
  • Improve ways of working by removing duplication and closing gaps
  • Ensure the business is always audit ready
  • Track performance using KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Work with senior stakeholders to embed changes and new ways of working
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure consistent adoption

Essential

  • Strong background in food technical or compliance roles
  • Experience creating or improving QMS, policies or procedures
  • Good understanding of food law and compliance requirements
  • Strong process improvement and problem solving skills
  • Ability to turn complex information into clear, practical processes

Desirable

  • Experience working with audit standards (e.g. BRCGS)
  • Background in wholesale or high volume product environments
  • Experience with specification or compliance systems
