We are looking for an experienced delivery manager to lead a team and ensure the delivery department trades efficiently, safely, and within legal constraints while offering the highest customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery team to ensure the branch trades efficiently, safely, and offers the highest customer service standards.
- Manage delivery costs and customer charges to achieve agreed targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, setting challenging targets to minimise payroll cost.
- Understand the local market to offer the best service in the area and ensure fantastic customer satisfaction.
- Manage the team effectively to cover all customer service requirements and engage with customers, using feedback to improve service and satisfaction.
- Work with the regional team and assist the business to identify opportunities while developing or improving ways of working.
- Ensure the role is based in one of our delivery locations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience, knowledge, and skills in warehouse and transport operations.
- Experience managing a warehouse operation.
- Engaging with customers and building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Developing new ideas and challenging a team to improve the delivery service.
- Identifying talent and encouraging development in a team.
- Motivating a team to build a strong customer service culture.
- Communicating openly and influencing key stakeholders.
- Planning and organising effectively.
- A hands-on approach (beneficial).
- Management CPC qualification (beneficial).
Employment Conditions
The role may require working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or in areas such as the warehouse, beers, wines & spirits, and driving. Candidates must be over the age of 18.
