About the role:

  • This role is full time for 38 hours per week. Working 1 in 3 weekends.
  • This role is known internally as a Butchery Manager; we are open to exploring Fresh Food Managers keen to learn the Butchery trade. Full Butchery training will be provided.
  • This is an exciting role where you will work with customers to develop their business, understand your local market and provide them with great service.
  • This role gives you the flexibility to run a butchery business without the financial risk.
  • We want someone who has good product knowledge of all meat proteins, who is self-motivated with a desire to succeed.
  • You will work alongside the Store Manager to develop a business plan that will support the growth in sales and profitability of your department.
  • Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and offering helpful advice with a smile.
  • Ordering and managing stock - including stocktaking.
  • Effectively developing and managing a small team including staff rotas.
  • Cutting meat to order.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Coordinating deliveries or order pickups.
  • Controlling waste.
