Canteen Assistant – Booker
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Canteen Assistant to join our team and help ensure the smooth day‑to‑day operation of our canteen facilities. This hands‑on role involves managing stock levels, conducting quality and code checks, replenishing and cleaning vending machines, and maintaining a clean and safe environment across the canteen and kitchen areas.
Responsibilities
- Stock management and control
- Code checking and quality assurance of stock
- Replenishment and cleaning of vending machines
- Hospitality support
- Assist in maintaining housekeeping in the canteen facilities, dining area and kitchen counters, including weekly and daily cleaning schedules
- Follow a checklist and manage own time to complete all tasks
- Adhere to food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, COSHH guidelines at all times
- Maintain due diligence on temperature controls
Qualifications
- Excellent attitude towards customer service with a friendly outgoing personality and experience working in a team environment
- Hygienic and able to keep on top of a 24‑hr canteen
- Good communication and organisational skills, with a mind to assist and provide ideas to streamline processes within stock integrity
- Take pride in canteen presentation
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills
- Experience within warehouse chambers (advantageous but not essential)
- Flexible and versatile
- Ability to produce quality standard of work
- Good PC and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
