Overview
Class 1 Driver Night-out role at Booker
This role involves delivering to customers as part of Booker’s flexible multi-temp, shared delivery network. LGV drivers are the face of our organisation, representing Best Food Logistics and delivering a high standard of service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products to customers intact, on time and in full according to the delivery schedule
- Complete documentation such as delivery notes, credits and collections
- Adhere to Driving Legislation and Working Time Regulations
- Follow Health and Safety procedures and take responsibility for own and others’ safety
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety Legislation and Chill Chain Standards
- Maintain LGV and perform safety checks including defect books
- Collect all empty equipment from customers
- Cooperate with driver debrief process and undertake other duties as directed by Shift Management
What you will need
This is a demanding but rewarding role involving manual handling and multi-drop deliveries. You should be confident driving and delivering to various outlets across the UK. You must hold a current LGV Class 1 driving licence. CPC training will be provided if you do not have a CPC card. Applications from newly qualified drivers are welcome.
Working hours
48 hours per week over 4 days, which may include Saturdays and public holidays. Typical start time between 02:00 and 06:00. Potential overtime available.
Salary and eligibility
Salary stated may include temporary payments. Please note age restrictions apply for certain shifts and duties (as stated in the original job posting). You may be eligible for discounts and benefits as part of the Booker/Best team.
