The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

  • Driver Trainer (Class 1 & Class 2 qualified) * Overtime opportunities also available, The HGV Driver Trainer / Assessor is responsible for delivering professional training and development whilst supporting all Drivers in the daily performance of their duties. The role will ensure all goods vehicle drivers are trained competently in line with company standards and legal requirements.

Working with the Transport Manager, Transport Team Managers and the Fleet Manager the Driver Trainer will ensure that Driving Assessments and Driver CPC Training and other training requirements are delivered and all training records are maintained for all Drivers across all aspects of driving and delivery.

Driver Trainers will still be required to complete store deliveries; trunking and/or collections as required where there is a business need.

Main Responsibilities

To be successful in the role you will achieve the following:

Policy changes – support and implementation

Support the delivery and management of the Mobile Phone & Distraction Policy

Store risk + re-risk assessments for safe deliveries.

Accident investigation support for Health & Safety and RSC management.

Operational risk assessments + SSOW (safe ways of working )

Safety week activities successfully delivered across Transport and Transport Admin

Support weekly audits

Support Hazard and Near Miss Card investigations

Identify areas of improvement and deliver via safety briefs, toolbox talks etc.

All refresher training is completed to the Group standard and fully documented

All drivers complete a documented annual assessment and any required training needs are actioned

Annual CPC training is completed in line with the network business plan and legal requirements

Completed and documented on colleague training file/matrix

Full training given to all colleagues and Team Managers are supported in delivering the agreed minimum standard

All class 2 drivers are fully assessed and prepared for formal LGV class 1 examination

All in house driver trainees are fully assessed and prepared for formal LGV examination

New in house trained drivers are fully supported and mentored post examination with regular trainer feedback sessions

All driver inductions are completed to the Group standard and fully documented

You will need A full UK driving licence which includes Category CE (HGV) Experienced LGV 1 Driver (minimum 3 years) Up to date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence Excellent knowledge of EU and Working Time Regulations Working knowledge of Transport and other relevant Legislation Delivering training to groups/individuals
