To develop and maintain a market-leading retail proposition covering pricing, range, promotions, services, and support that enables retailers to run profitable stores while delivering strong customer satisfaction for both retailers and Booker. The role combines commercial strategy, wholesale market insight, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to create profitable solutions. Reporting to the Head of Retail Proposition, it plays a key role in supporting the shaping of future short, medium and long-term retail plans.
- Develop and optimise the retail proposition to drive retailer growth, profitability and loyalty.
- Ensure appropriate range for each symbol fascia is in place to deliver the retail plan.
- Influence the Product team for differentiation in promotional activity between the fascia's and Scoot, in terms of both product and marketing materials.
- Collate customer feedback in Price, Range and Margin working closely with the Retail Controllers and Sales Teams and use this to make informed recommendations.
- Monitor future trends in convenience retail, shopper behaviour and wholesale to inform both short and long term strategy.
- Work closely and collaboratively with teams across Product, Range, Marketing and Supply Chain to develop ideas and implement recommendations.
- Support the development of store planograms and expected merchandising standards.
- Act as the voice of the independent retailer when working collaboratively with other functions in projects and meetings.
- Develop and implement a robust forward planning process for capturing and recording all key events.
