About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for nightshift warehouse operatives to join Booker on a permanent contract with a 16 week probationary period.
Colleagues will be required to work an average of 40 hours per week.
The successful candidates will be required to work:
Nightshift 22.00pm-06.00am, Sunday to Thursday/Monday to Friday
You will receive shift premiums, which are calculated on the basic hours that are worked between the following bands:
18.00 – 23.59 hours 15%
00.00 – 05.59 hours 25%
Saturday and Sunday 20%
Hours worked between 06.00 and 17.59 are classed as day shift and attract no premium.
Shift premium is not paid on any overtime hours.
You will also participate in the site incentive scheme which is related to an individuals performance.
You will be responsible for
To receive, pick and load goods correctly in accordance with safe standards of work instructions
To operate all manual and mechanical handling equipment correctly and safely to avoid damage to goods, property or people
Daily pre-equipment checks before use, reporting any faults immediately to a manager
Report dangerous stacking, racking damage, obstructions and any other danger or irregularities immediately to a manager
Assist in the issue of any paperwork, documentation as required
Undergo any training when required by the Company
Any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business
You will need
As a warehouse operative, being flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment is essential. You should be hardworking, able to work to set deadlines, and have a professional, positive, organized, and enthusiastic approach. While proven experience in a warehouse environment would be advantageous, it is not essential. You should be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Remember, the key to success is being self-motivated.

Key Points:
Numeracy and literacy
Experience within warehouse chambers would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Handle goods carefully and comply with safety regulations.
Ensure goods are not damaged through mis-handling or faulty storing or stacking.
Flexible and versatile.
Able to produce quality standard of work.
