Shift Hours: 38 hrs per week (Any 5 days from 7)

As a Driver Assistant, you will ensure our customers get the best impression of our organisation. You are the face of our business. You will assist Class 2 Drivers in providing a first-class delivery service to our valued customers, ensuring that company standards and procedures are met.

  • A smart and professional personal appearance, role modelling The Face of Booker at all times.
  • A good working knowledge of delivery equipment such as cages, bars, straps, tail lift etc.
  • Knowledge of vehicle defects and the vehicle defect policy.
  • Supporting the driver whilst delivering to customer premises, by helping to navigate the driver, supporting reversing and parking, correct use of PDA, ensuring the chill chain is adhered to, helping to load and unload etc.
  • Being the point of contact for both customers and the branch whilst on the road.
  • Having an awareness of potential H&S risks such as bridge strikes, and incident management.
  • Ensuring that company policies and processes are adhered to.
  • Working in line with GDPR guidelines at all times.
  • Leading by example and living the Booker Code of Business Conduct and Win Together behaviours.
  • Supporting branch function whilst not on the road, such as keeping the vehicle clean, picking, wrapping and loading.
  • Understanding of the safe use of delivery equipment.
  • Knowledge of the vehicle defect policy.
  • Previous use of PDA preferable.
  • A positive outlook with great customer service skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Resilience.
  • A good spatial awareness, to support the driver.
