Transport Operations Clerks are responsible for the administration of the Transport department including the operational activity and support of the warehouse administration as required. Your duties will vary depending on what's required on the day so being flexible is an important skill to have. Whether it's giving drivers their paperwork, supporting with route departures, gathering Tachograph reports, debriefing drivers or generally being supportive with any challenges that arise, you'll be an essential part of the Transport Operations Team.

The Hours for this role are varied on a 5 Week rotating rota:

  • Week 1 - Monday - Friday 6am-2pm
  • Week 2 - Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm
  • Week 3 - Sunday-Thursday 2pm-10pm
  • Week 4 - Sun, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat
  • Week 5 - Sun, Mon, Tue, Thur, Sat

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate transport documentation, including delivery notes, manifests, and proof of delivery (PODs).
  • Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Support transport planning by assisting with route scheduling and vehicle allocations.
  • Monitor and track deliveries, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
  • Ensure all records are updated accurately within transport and warehouse management systems.
  • Check driver compliance with relevant transport regulations (e.g. driver hours and tachograph requirements).
  • Handle queries and provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support general administrative duties within the transport office.
