About the role:
We are currently recruiting a Freezer Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team. This role involves working in a freezer environment to support the efficient picking, packing, and movement of goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. As a member of our warehouse team, you will undertake challenging and rewarding work and play a pivotal role in ensuring we fulfil our customers' needs. Our Booker Retail Partners site in Didcot is a 245,000 sq ft, modern, multi-temperature food service site. There is also great scope for training, development and progression within the company.
Successful candidates will be required to work 5 days per week between Sunday and Friday with shift hours of 06:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs (the early day shift) one week and 14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs (the late day shift) the next week. Limited positions available on the night shift 22:00hrs -06:00hrs.
You will be responsible for:
- The picking, packing and loading of our customer food orders for delivery within a freezer environment.
- Ensuring stock is handled and stored correctly.
- Processing goods efficiently and effectively.
- Performing stock checks as and when necessary.
- Replenishing the DC with goods in stock.
- Performing the necessary hygiene checks.
You will need:
- Flexible, reliable people with a 'can do' attitude and great team working ethics.
- A basic understanding of Health and Safety.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work in a freezer environment (full PPE provided).
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
- Previous warehouse or freezer experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- LLOP or PPT Experience.
- Counterbalance truck licence/experience.
- FLT Licence/experience.
We can only accept candidates over the age of 18 if the role requires working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm or involves working in areas such as the warehouse, beers, wines & spirits, and driving roles.
