We are thrilled to announce that we are looking for an assistant to join our UK team! The position will be supporting two agents and is for a candidate who is passionate about adult non-fiction publishing, particularly science, smart thinking and business books.

Requirements

  • 1/2+ years of experience in adult non-fiction publishing and widely read in this area
  • 1/2+ years of experience reading/editing non-fiction proposals or manuscripts
  • Strong administrative experience and organizational skills
  • IT skills: MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and phone skills
  • A quick learner and entrepreneurial flare

Role Description

  • Liaising between lawyers and publishers on contracts, and putting deal memos into Bradbury Phillips
  • Reading and editing client proposals
  • Liaising with foreign rights team and co-agents (film and US)
  • Posting author news on social media platforms and website
  • Light diary management
  • Managing author requests and assisting with project submissions
  • Keeping track of payments and liaising with the accounts department
  • Reading submissions, writing book reports and answering queries

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent editorial skills who would like to eventually grow their own list at a leading transatlantic literary agency.
