We have a scouting position available at Fox Literary. If you’re looking to segway from publishing into the screen industry, this may be the ideal opportunity, with potential for growth within the company. Ours is a small but curate-oriented scouting firm, working with some of the most prestigious producers in the industry.

The right candidate will have the opportunity to expand on existing skills and publishing knowledge and gain insight and exposure into acquisition strategy and early development processes across a range of film and TV drama departments. The candidate should ideally have held previous scout roles or will have relevant industry experience of at least 3-5 years, preferably at a publishing house or a literary agency.

Wide knowledge and interest in various genres of film and TV drama are important as well as an awareness of platform trends. Above all, curiosity, enthusiasm and the ability to communicate a sound opinion will be paramount to the role.

  • Excellent eye for detail, organisational aptitude and the ability to recognise and respond to shifting priorities, often on a daily basis and in time-sensitive environments.
  • Ability to write succinct and persuasive reader reports on a regular basis as well as contributing to our weekly client memos.
  • Awareness of the editorial players across UK and US markets in literary and commercial fiction (knowledge translation market a plus).
  • Forging relationships, confident networking.

While quick reading across a spectrum of literary genres is a necessary component of the role, a special interest in literary fiction is welcome. Some flexibility for remote working is possible, though at least 3 days of the week will require central London meetings or working out of our Farringdon office base.

For more information, please email a short introduction and CV to admin@fox-literary.com by April 29th. Unfortunately we are only able to respond to candidates we will be taking forward for interview.

Contract: permanent, full-time. Salary will be commensurate with experience and industry standard. Starting date: late May/June (flexible).
