The full-time, fixed-term role will involve active scouting in the UK, Australian and Canadian markets.
Eccles Fisher Associates is looking for a dynamic, hard-working person to join its UK scouting team as full-time maternity cover, working from its central London office.
This is a linchpin role which will involve active scouting in the UK, Australian and Canadian markets. The role includes:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with rights professionals, agents, and editors;
- Reading and reporting to clients weekly on individual books from a wide range of fiction and non-fiction;
- Maintaining the company database;
- Assisting with client queries;
- Co-ordinating book fair schedules.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years\’ publishing experience and some existing London contacts. They will be organised, self-motivated, and outgoing, with a solid understanding of relevant aspects (agenting, foreign rights selling, and editorial) of the publishing industry. They will be a flexible team player, able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment, and will have a broad reading taste.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role, starting mid-August 2025 and ending mid-July 2026, with four days in the office and Fridays working from home.
Salary relative to experience, but expected to be in the range of £32,000 to £38,000.
