We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our award‑winning audio division in creating high‑quality, innovative audiobooks. You will lead on our Children’s and YA audio publishing as well as support production across our adult trade imprints and the team’s administrative needs. This role is a perfect opportunity for a creative and collaborative audio professional looking to step up. The ideal candidate will have a passion for audiobooks and be familiar with the audio space, with clear thoughts on what makes a successful audiobook.
Responsibilities
- Following the critical path to ensure titles are cast, assigned, and delivered on time and to budget
- Maintaining accurate bibliographic data
- Casting and planning productions with creativity, authenticity and a view on potential commercial opportunities
- Working with narrators and studios, including attending recording sessions
- Working closely with editorial teams to ensure manuscripts and artwork are received in a timely manner
- Working closely with the marketing and PR teams to promote and champion audio editions and discoverability
- Negotiating narrator fees and terms with voice agents
- Quality control and distribution of files
- Communicating with retailers
- Delivering excellent author care
- Maintaining and updating the audio publishing programme
- Administrative responsibilities in support of the wider team
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in publishing and/or audio at an Assistant Editor or Editor level
- Able to demonstrate a love of audiobooks and publishing, particularly children's and YA content
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Able to deliver multiple projects to deadlines at a consistent level of quality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Creative and passionate about high‑quality audio production
- Self‑starter
- Eager to learn
- Flexible and calm under pressure
- Happy working in a small team
- Have strong relationship‑building skills and be able to collaborate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders
