Bonnier Books UK is looking for a performance marketing expert to be our senior marketing manager for the Adult Trade division in an exciting and newly created role, leading across our commercial non-fiction and lifestyle hub. The successful applicant will manage the non-fiction portfolio and calendar, spotting and executing year‑round opportunities to maximise our non-fiction sales.
You will have hands‑on experience of managing advanced level paid social advertising campaigns across Meta and Google, and you will be proficient in connecting with online communities. We are looking for a candidate with a real passion for the factual and entertainment sector, and with a strong background in digital marketing, to join our team.
Key responsibilities:
- Devise and deliver best‑in‑class, insight‑driven year‑round campaigns for our biggest non‑fiction publications, repeat series brands and catalogue bestsellers.
- Manage the non‑fiction paid social media portfolio, devising and running advanced advertising campaigns for our biggest non‑fiction releases and backlist catalogue across key platforms including Meta, Google suite, TikTok and Amazon.
- Develop comprehensive audience, creative and offer test‑and‑learn frameworks to improve advertising and campaign efficiency.
- Conduct keyword research to deliver keyword search optimisation across our non‑fiction portfolio.
- Conduct competitor research including out of category, spot new opportunities to maximise our non‑fiction portfolio.
- Generate detailed weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to present to the business to show effectiveness and deliver actionable insights from advertising campaigns and marketing activity.
- Track key metrics including CTR (Click‑Through Rate), ATC (Add to Cart), attribution and conversion.
- Proactively manage high profile talent/author and agent communications with effective and timely coordination with stakeholders, both internal and external, on marketing strategy and marketing plans.
- Effectively manage year‑round marketing budget for your title list, using insight and analysis to effectively allocate investment to deliver growth and profitability.
- Contribute to acquisition of new non‑fiction books through sharing marketing cultural trend, social trend and influencer insight.
- Work with the marketing director to pitch for new business for the Commercial Non‑Fiction and Lifestyle hub.
- Deputise for the marketing director in key meetings including Acquisitions and Covers.
- Manage one direct report, setting clear goals for their development and supporting and mentoring them to deliver on their objectives.
- Contribute to driving positive change, share learnings and upskilling others in the Marketing team.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for innovation and growth across the business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Paid social media expert with years of hands‑on experience of creating and running advanced level campaigns on Meta, TikTok, Google.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills with an ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into clear actions.
- At least five years’ experience working in marketing or digital marketing in the Entertainment or Lifestyle industry is preferred.
- Experience with tools such as Semrush, Google Analytics, Google Trends/Keyword, Amazon Search Terms, TikTok Keyword Tool is preferred.
- Experience in creating and delivering impactful storytelling content and creative (especially for online) to maximise digital campaigns.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- A proactive project manager who brings teams together, forward plans across the year and delivers to deadlines.
- A confident senior voice who is immersed in the entertainment market and has a creative approach to spotting opportunities.
- Management experience preferable.
