Location: 5th Floor, HYLO, 105 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8LZ

Working pattern: Hybrid - minimum of two days per week in the office; up to three days per week working from home

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

General Summary

A new digital group role working across the digital first and trade business, e-book and audio, with a core focus on promotions and pricing across e-books and audiobooks: driving planning, experimentation, implementation and growth. This position will work closely with the group digital director, head of digital sales, and editorial and marketing leads (as well as marketing teams) to optimise profitability and efficacy of digital strategy. An understanding of both e-book models, reseller and agency is preferable and an understanding of the audio market.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintaining and exceeding groupwide minimum RPU’s - both UK & International
  • Fortnightly bestseller checks on key titles to max out the APRU
  • Driving high value title count inclusion in subscription on a quarterly basis
  • Topline trade pricing reviews for frontlist, core backlist and deep backlist – benchmarking market
  • Regular sales analysis of both BBUK and the market

Sales and Operations

  • Supporting the head of digital sales with maintenance of Onix feeds and amazon pages
  • Deputise in meetings for the Head of Digital where needed
  • Maintaining and updating key reports (pre-orders, promotional sales)
  • Coordinating with the audio team on drafting retailer presentations for quarterly pitch meetings (including to Apple, Audible, Spotify, etc.)
  • Supporting the audio team in maintaining title data for retailers

PROMOTIONS

  • Ownership of the implementation of the global e-book promotional strategy – including all stages from planning, to nominating to the analysis
  • Connecting physical teams with audio and digital campaign planning to co-ordinate cross format discoverability as key performance metric.
  • Implementation of the e-book subscription services strategy including understanding and optimising the timelines of KU participation across Digital first and Trade imprints.
  • Owning the audio promotions scheduling and coordinating promo and editorial submissions.

DATA

  • Ensuring our e-book and audio sales and promotions data is analysed and disseminated across the company.
  • Undertake independent analysis of marketing tools and implementing them for max effectiveness

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to interpret sales, pricing and promotional data and turn insight into actions that drive digital growth.
  • Experience of working in a digital sales, sales analyst or commercial role, ideally within publishing, with an understanding of e-book, audiobook and retailer platforms is preferred
  • Excellent organisation, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across sales, editorial, marketing and audio teams.
  • Experience of preparing reports, presentations or sales materials for internal stakeholders and external retail partners.
