The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

To assist in the sourcing, negotiating and purchasing of product that meet the company’s vision and buying strategy for a given range, whilst owning and supporting the delivery of agreed target KPI’s. Working in partnership with the Buying Director, Buyer, Merchandiser, Technologist and suppliers toplan and develop the range.

  • Plan a commercial range within your own areas alongside the Buyer and Buying director that

maximise sales and profit.

  • Maintain a clear understanding of the customer brand handwriting.
  • Ensure that the supply base has the capability to meet requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for best price whilst maintaining product integrity and standards in

production.

  • Ensure that agreed levels of good, better and best product are bought.
  • Review competitor activity and regularly assess price architecture.
  • Meet deadlines within the buying calendar and adhere to the critical path.
  • Set clear performance standards to self and team members.
  • Present the range in trading, selections, sign off and review meetings.
  • Understand profit and intake margin strategy focussing on achieved NAM
  • Actively trade the department, review commitment against current sales performance and set

action plan accordingly.

  • Work with technologist to take joint responsibility for fit and quality.
  • Regularly visit stores and work closely with retail and Merchandise colleagues.
  • Work with the supplier design resource to source and develop new product opportunities.
  • Secure dates for product sign-off at appropriate points in the season.
  • Oversee the critical path management for the department.

Additional Accountabilities

  • Assist in driving marketing and trading activity via Press & POS in collaboration with the

marketing team.

  • Ensure that key events are planned, monitored and delivered e.g. Windows, Collection

launches, POS, and Mailer launches.

  • Ensure that communication of issues and developments to the Product Buyer/Buying Director

is timely, consistent and in the appropriate format.

  • Develop and share best practise across the buying floor.

Measures of Success

  • Deliver a profitable range in a timely manner.
  • Develop a range which works visually alongside other products to agreed guidelines.
  • Work within budget to increase sales whilst reducing markdown.

Person Specification

  • Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding with minimum of 3 year at

Assistant Buyer Level.

  • Strong knowledge of putting together a profitable range.
  • Effective communicator, presenter and team player.
  • Ability to adopt a flexible approach when required and to think swiftly.
  • Relevant technical experience for a given product range.
  • Experience of working with suppliers on a landed and FOB basis
