We are supporting a leading global investment bank in the search for a Cyber BA Team Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Cyber to take ownership of a developing Business Analysis function, lead strategic initiatives and build a high-performing team.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Cyber, Technology and the wider business, you'll play a key role in shaping the BA capability, driving delivery across strategic Cyber programmes and ensuring business requirements are translated into effective technology solutions.
The role will initially focus on establishing and leading the BA function, with the opportunity to build and manage a team of up to 10 Business Analysts as the function continues to grow. This is a position offering genuine scope to influence how the team operates, drive best practice and make a lasting impact across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Business Analysis function supporting Cyber and Technology initiatives.
- Take ownership of BA delivery across a portfolio of strategic Cyber programmes, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and successfully delivered.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across Cyber, Technology, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Front Office, Risk, Finance and Data.
- Lead workshops, requirements gathering, business analysis, process mapping and solution design activities.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear business requirements and functional specifications.
- Oversee end-to-end Business Analysis delivery throughout the project lifecycle, from initial discovery and requirements through to testing and implementation.
- Define testing strategies, develop test plans and support system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior Technology and Business stakeholders, providing recommendations and supporting key decisions.
- Proactively manage project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to maintain delivery.
- Produce management information, KPIs and reporting to provide visibility of progress, performance and delivery.
- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing team of Business Analysts, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Champion innovation and the adoption of AI and emerging technologies across the Business Analysis function.
Required Experience:
- Strong Business Analysis experience within Cyber or Cyber Security.
- Financial Services experience, ideally within a tier-one investment or corporate banking environment.
- Experience delivering complex Cyber, Cyber Security or technology change initiatives.
- Background in either Cyber Risk/Governance (GRC) or more technical Cyber disciplines.
- Strong understanding of Business Analysis methodologies, including requirements gathering, business process analysis, functional specifications and the full project lifecycle.
- Experience working across complex technology environments and engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence at senior management level.
- Proven ability to take ownership of initiatives, manage competing priorities and drive delivery in a demanding environment.
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing Business Analysts or technology professionals.
- Previous direct line management experience, although strong functional leadership experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Understanding of identity lifecycle management, access controls, privileged accounts, role-based access control and segregation of duties.
- Awareness of Cyber governance, regulatory requirements and associated control frameworks.
- Familiarity with solutions such as ServiceNow, CyberArk and RSA.
- Strong Excel and SQL skills, with the ability to undertake independent systems analysis and data investigation.
- Experience working with technology vendors and delivering large-scale international programmes.
- An interest in AI and automation, particularly how these can improve Business Analysis processes and delivery.
Ideal Candidate:
You are an established Business Analyst within Cyber who is ready to take the next step into a leadership position. You have the confidence and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders, challenge requirements, influence solutions and drive complex initiatives through to successful delivery.
You don't necessarily need to be a technical Cyber Security specialist. We're open to candidates from both Cyber Risk/GRC and more technical Cyber backgrounds, provided you have strong Business Analysis experience and the ability to lead, influence and develop others.
Previous formal line management experience would be beneficial, but we're equally interested in individuals who have demonstrated strong functional leadership, taken ownership of delivery and acted as a go-to person for other Business Analysts.
The real attraction here is the opportunity to build something.
You'll be joining a growing Cyber function, taking ownership of its Business Analysis capability and having the opportunity to shape, recruit and lead a team of up to 10 Business Analysts over time.
