Java Developer (Contract) – Fintech Scale-Up | Outside IR35

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Duration: 6 months

About the Company

We’re supporting a fast-growing Fintech scale-up building a next-generation digital cash savings platform. Their mission is to help people and institutions make the most of their money by simplifying access to high-performing savings products.

The Role

We’re looking for a Java Developer to join their growing platform team on a 6-month Outside IR35 contract . This is a backend-focused role where you\’ll contribute to the architecture and build of a high-availability, API-driven SaaS platform.

You’ll work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, helping them scale to meet growing demand from financial institutions and end-users alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java
• Architect and implement service-oriented and event-driven systems
• Optimise and manage PostgreSQL databases
• Contribute to light React frontend work when needed
• Build and deploy using AWS
• Uphold high standards for engineering quality, performance, and reliability

Required Experience

• Strong Java engineering experience, ideally with Micronaut or Spring Boot
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL , including query optimisation
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, especially on AWS
• Exposure to React or willingness to support minor frontend tasks
• Background in fintech or SaaS platforms (a plus)
