The Part Time Art Handler will support the operations of the warehouse, ensuring the timely flow of property inbound and outbound, ensuring due care and attention is paid to property safety, inventory accuracy and client service. This is a hands-on role in a busy Auction House warehouse dealing with many different and varied types of objects through the auction process.

In your role as Part-Time Art Handler, you will be required to carry out the following:

  • Physically working in the warehouse moving stock, including loading and unloading trucks
  • Assist and support the Warehouse supervisor
  • Assist and support Photographers during shoots
  • Working with, supervising 3rd party companies, and ensuring they comply with appropriate ways of working
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed and processed correctly with focus on inventory accuracy and invoice management when necessary
  • Safely and correctly handling, storing and packing stock, ensuring to comply to all Bonham's procedures and H&S guidelines and requirements
  • Supply excellent client service to clients and/or their representatives
  • Working with other internal Bonhams departments to meet targets/deadlines
  • Physically handling and checking, including all paperwork requirements for all planned and ad hoc deliveries and collections

In addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by your Manager.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Able to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise a heavy workload, maintaining attention to detail and be prepared to take the initiative
  • Able to work without supervision, as part of a team and be flexible
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn Bonham software A3 quickly)
  • Highly organised with the ability to keep efficient records.
  • Excellent communication and client services skills
  • Enthusiasm and “can do” attitude for the job
  • Punctuality
  • Full driver’s licence with experience of driving 3.5 tonne truck would be desirable

Please note, a large proportion of the tasks required for this role (approximately 75%) involve heavy lifting.
