Responsibilities
- Assist with research, cataloguing, authentication and oversee photography.
- Provide advice for Bonhams clients on sale viewings.
- Maintain and support the ongoing development of a database of customers for the department.
- Maintain contact with established collectors and trade contacts to encourage further business.
- Assist specialists in producing advertising and marketing campaigns within set budgets.
- Provide client valuations at New Bond Street and Knightsbridge, and specific off‑site visits as necessary.
- Assist on exhibition events as required.
- Maintain awareness of competitors’ strategies to maintain the department's competitive position.
- Explore areas for career growth in client development, expertise and business development.
- Serve as the department's experienced user of Auctioneer3, managing administration of the sale cycle.
- Manage clients and their property throughout the sale cycle, including receipting, consignment contracts, client details and payment management.
- Act as the primary contact for external stakeholders, escalating to Specialists when required.
- Co‑ordinate the movement of property throughout the sale cycle with regional offices, Shipping, Operations & Photography.
- Support clients with after‑sale enquiries, resolution of payments and arranging shipping quotes.
- Prepare valuations, condition reports and condition photography as required.
- Respond to client enquiries pre‑ and post‑sale, bidding and event management.
- Provide relevant information to ensure client contractual obligations are met.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills with capacity to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Collaborative and adaptable approach to working within a team environment.
