About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding Quality Assurance Lead to join our senior team, supporting our Quality Director in delivering clinical excellence across our portfolio of nursing homes throughout the South of England. This is a hybrid role combining home-based working with regular travel to our services.

As Quality Assurance Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, governance and regulatory compliance across our homes. Working closely with the Quality Director and operational teams, you will provide expert oversight, identify areas for improvement and support homes to achieve and sustain excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Quality Director in the delivery of the organisation's quality and clinical governance strategy.
  • Undertake comprehensive quality assurance visits and clinical audits across nursing homes.
  • Analyse clinical data, trends and incidents to identify risks, missed opportunities and areas requiring improvement.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to home managers and clinical teams to enhance quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and review care practices, medicines management, documentation and clinical outcomes.
  • Lead and support investigations relating to incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints and serious events.
  • Liaise professionally with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards, safeguarding teams, Coroners, CQC and other external agencies.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and their families, ensuring concerns are addressed sensitively and effectively.
  • Support homes through inspections and action plans, driving continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
  • Deliver coaching, mentoring and training to promote a culture of learning and quality improvement.
  • Produce high-quality reports, recommendations and action plans for senior leadership.
  • Promote a culture of openness, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate professional who possesses:

  • Registered Nurse qualification (RGN/RMN) with active NMC registration preferred.
  • Significant experience within elderly care and nursing home settings.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding, medicines management and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach and support teams to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical information and identify emerging risks.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Local Authorities, healthcare professionals, families and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, report writing and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the South of England.
