We are looking for an inspirational Commissioning Home Manager to join our team and lead the successful opening and development of a 60-bedded nursing home in Middlesbrough.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated care professional to play a key role in creating a high-quality home where residents feel valued, respected and truly at home.
About the Role
As Commissioning Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful mobilisation and opening of the home, ensuring it is fully prepared to deliver exceptional standards of care from day one.
You will lead the recruitment, induction and development of your team, establish strong relationships with residents and their families, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the home is fully compliant and ready for a successful launch.
Once operational, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring outstanding care, strong occupancy, effective leadership and a positive experience for residents, relatives and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning and mobilisation of the 50-bed nursing home.
- Prepare the home for opening and ensure all relevant regulatory and operational requirements are met.
- Recruit, lead and inspire a high-performing team.
- Create a positive, inclusive and person-centred culture.
- Ensure consistently high standards of care, safeguarding and clinical governance.
- Develop strong relationships with residents, families and key stakeholders.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies, commissioners and healthcare professionals.
- Manage budgets, staffing, occupancy and overall operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure the home delivers excellent outcomes for residents.
- Build a strong reputation within the local Middlesbrough and wider North East community.
About You
We are looking for an experienced care leader who is confident, compassionate and commercially aware, with the ability to build a successful home from the ground up.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience as a Registered Care/Nursing Home Manager.
- Experience of commissioning or opening a new care home is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to recruit, motivate and develop a strong team.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Strong knowledge of the care sector and the needs of older people.
