About Us

At Bondcare, we operate a premium portfolio of a large cluster of nursing care homes, providing complex, clinical, and dementia care. We understand that a safe, clinically sound, and beautifully maintained environment is fundamental to the dignity and well-being of our residents. We are seeking an experienced estates leader to ensure our properties consistently meet the highest standards of safety, medical infrastructure compliance, and comfort.

The Role

As our Head of Facilities, you will take full ownership of the strategic, operational, and clinical-compliance management of our physical estate. Nursing environments demand rigid adherence to strict health and statutory regulations. You won’t just sit behind a desk—you will lead from the front. This is a hybrid role combining multi-site estates management with active, hands-on maintenance work. You will take full ownership of our physical properties, ensuring our specialist medical infrastructure is fully operational while directly executing repairs, trouble-shooting system faults, and mentoring our site-based maintenance staff on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical & Statutory Compliance: Lead on all estate compliance, ensuring 100% adherence to statutory regulations, including HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) guidelines where applicable, fire safety, and rigorous water hygiene (Legionella control).
  • Specialist Medical Infrastructure: Oversee the servicing, testing, and lifecycle management of critical care home assets, including medical gas pipelines, oxygen tracking systems, passenger lifts, nurse call systems, and specialist hoisting equipment.
  • CQC Excellence: Ensure all clinical and residential spaces meet and exceed Care Quality Commission (CQC) Regulation 15 (Premises and Equipment) requirements, maintaining audit-ready documentation across all sites.
  • Compliance & CQC Auditing: Ensure all sites strictly meet Care Quality Commission (CQC) Regulation 15 (Premises and Equipment) guidelines. Conduct hands-on health & safety checks, fire door inspections, and water hygiene (Legionella) flushing protocols.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Manage and work alongside our site-based maintenance technicians, actively upskilling them on complex repairs and statutory checks.
  • Contractor Management: Serve as the main point of contact for external specialist engineers, overseeing their work on-site to ensure high standards and value for money.

About You

  • Sector Background: Deep experience as a Facilities Manager or Head of Estates within nursing homes, private hospitals, or a highly regulated healthcare environment.
  • Qualifications: Solid professional standing with a technical qualification such as NEBOSH (General or Fire), IWFM membership, or a degree/HND in building services engineering.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of the operational risks associated with vulnerable residents, infection control protocols, and medical device maintenance.
  • Operational Readiness: Fully flexible to travel across our regional portfolio as required, holding a clean, valid UK driving licence.

What We Offer

This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to work across a growing organisation and make a tangible difference to the quality of care delivered across our homes. We offer a lucrative and highly competitive package, which may include:

  • Competitive salary
  • Generous car allowance
  • Travel and expenses covered
  • Career development opportunities
  • The opportunity to work with and support a diverse portfolio of nursing homes
  • A senior leadership role with significant responsibility and influence
  • The chance to make a genuine difference to residents, families and care teams

If you are an experienced nursing home leader who enjoys solving problems, improving standards and supporting teams through change, we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a national role where no two days are the same, using your expertise to make a real and lasting impact across Bondcare Nursing Homes.
