We are a rapidly growing MGA (Managing General Agent) underwriting trade credit insurance and surety products. Location: London (Bermondsey Street, London Bridge). Three days per week in the office.
Experience: At least 10 years experience in Credit Insurance.
About the role: You will be working closely with the VP of Legal and Compliance, Group CUO and with the Commercial teams globally. You will take primary responsibility for the insurance wording and policy documentation workstream, focusing on trade credit insurance policy wordings and endorsements, with occasional work on surety bonds and counterindemnities, across multiple jurisdictions. Alongside this core responsibility, you will be involved in new product launches, and supporting the legal and compliance work required by a fast-growing regulated business. This is a broad role. You will take ownership of significant workstreams, and have the opportunity to develop as the business grows.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate policy wordings and endorsements, and related documentation.
- Own and maintain the policy wordings library and version control process across all active jurisdictions.
- Support new product launches and new market entries, working with legal and compliance and external counsel where required.
- Review and negotiate broker terms of business agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
- Support compliance with ongoing regulatory requirements, including working with legal and compliance and our external partners on our USA policy wording filings.
- Build and maintain legal templates, playbooks and process documentation.
- Use AI tools as a core part of service delivery, helping the commercial function operate efficiently and scale effectively.
You might be a good fit if:
- You have experience as a Credit Insurance Commercial Underwriter: drafting or reviewing policy wordings, endorsements, or insurance-related commercial documentation.
- You have a thorough understanding and wide experience of a broad range of policy structures including; single risks, excess of loss, framework policies, etc.
- You enjoy taking ownership of your work and exercising judgement about when to escape and are a team player.
- You are agile in the way you prioritise your work.
- You are commercially minded and able to balance legal risk with practical business outcomes.
- You are intellectually curious and excited by the prospect of learning quickly across a broad range of underwriting, legal and regulatory topics.
- You see AI as a practical tool for improving legal delivery and are keen to experiment with new tools and workflows.
- You communicate clearly, concisely and confidently, both in writing and in person.
