We are working with an established engineering and laboratory-based organisation seeking an experienced Senior Laboratory Manager to lead the turnaround and transformation of a critical laboratory operation. This would be a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with full accountability for laboratory performance, people leadership, and operational excellence. The focus is on stabilising operations, optimising workflows, addressing operational constraints, and building a sustainable, high-performing team. You will be supported by a dedicated Lean Six Sigma professional, allowing you to focus on leadership, decision-making, and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the laboratory as a business, with accountability for quality, delivery, cost, and people
  • Reviewing and optimising end-to-end laboratory workflows
  • Identifying and removing operational constraints to improve efficiency, throughput, and turnaround times
  • Providing confident, visible leadership to teams through a period of change
  • Developing a clear people and capability plan so staff can grow with the organisation
