Our client, a specialist manufacturing business in Abingdon (OX14), has created a new position for an inquisitive and self-motivated Quality Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team. This is a varied role with excellent progression opportunities including a path to Senior Quality Engineer or the possibility to diversify into one of many different areas of this highly collaborative and technical business.
The Quality Engineer will take on a variety of responsibilities and short term goals include reducing scrappage by completing end to end processes including analysing non conformance data against current SOPs and raising CAPAs. The role also involves preparing external audit packs and conducting internal audits.
Longer term there will be the opportunity to contribute to and manage Continuous Improvement projects and improve the company-wide Quality Management System, taking on more responsibility over time.
The ideal Quality Engineer will have awareness of a range of Quality procedures such as 8D, 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis plus be adaptable to work across different and new projects which can arise at short notice.
