UK/European Tax Accountant

Bond Williams Recruitment are recruiting a Tax Accountant with our Southampton based client that operates across over 200 countries internationally.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring tax compliance including corporation tax, global VAT and other indirect taxes.
• Key contact with HMRC for business risk reviews and ad hoc queries.
• Ensure good tax controls.
• Drive the SOX reviews on VAT/corporation tax along with Corporate Criminal Offences Act review and develop new processes where necessary.
• Liaise with external tax advisers and build the relationship.
• Liaising with IT to ensure system reflects legislative changes.
• Act as a go to person for tax within the finance team and is the sole tax specialist for Southampton.
• Prepare quarterly corporation tax provision.
• Liaise with global tax team to highlight European/UK tax projects and developments.
• System testing and assist with implementation of application upgrades to reflect updates and compliance; provide IT support for tax system enhancements.
• Liaise with senior management regarding any business impact of tax issues.

What we’re looking for:

• You will need to be qualified (or close to qualifying) ACA/ACCA/CTA with good knowledge of UK, European and international VAT and corporation tax.
• You will need to have excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with external tax advisers and senior management. Strong Excel and experience of Oracle or other ERP system would also be essential.
