Accounts Team Supervisor required for a busy legal firm with offices in the BCP conurbation. This role is based out of their Poole office; the role is office based with onsite parking.
As the Accounts Team Supervisor, you will be supporting the Finance Director in managing the Finance team’s day to day work as well as your own responsibilities, you will hold a pivotal role between the partners and the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities:- Overseeing the daily financial operations (billing and banking functions) and managing workflows
- Month and year end account preparation
- VAT returns
- Responsible for various renewals i.e. Death in Service and P11D’s
- Supporting Payroll function
- Liaising with auditors on SARs audit and year end audit
- Adhering to Solicitors Accounts Rules and acting as a support to the team in implementing them
- Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Communicating and coordinating with senior management and other departments
- Supporting the Finance Director with driving efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations and reporting
- Change and project management around implementation of new IT system
- AAT qualified, or ideally studying ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Proven experience as a Supervisor, preferably within a legal or professional services sector
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in financial software and systems
- IT skills using Excel and Word are essential together with knowledge of accounting software.
