Temporary Accounts Assistant required for a small, mission-driven charity who can hit the ground running and provide essential interim support during a period of systems change and high transactional volume.
The Role
You'll be joining a busy finance function that has recently migrated from Xero to Sage and is implementing new processes across credit control, supplier invoicing, and integrated shop sales. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional processing - clearing a large backlog and maintaining high-volume monthly activity
- Credit control - supporting new systems and ensuring timely customer payments
- Supplier invoice processing and maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
- Reconciliations - particularly credit card reconciliations for a large volume of card users, plus support across multiple bank accounts
- Keeping sales ledger and purchase ledger up to date
- Acting as a systems-focused problem solver, helping refine and stabilise new workflows
What They're Looking For
- Someone confident working independently and able to hit the ground running
- Strong reconciliation skills, especially on the credit card side
- Experience with Xero is highly desirable
- A practical, organised systems person who enjoys improving processes
- Comfortable with high-volume transactional work
Contract & Working Pattern
- 1 month initially with a strong chance of 3-6 months extension
- Full-time: 9am-5pm, 30-minute lunch (37.5 hours per week)
