Temporary Group Accounts Assistant required for our client based in Central Bournemouth. The client is an established, highly successful international business, offering 4 days in the office, 1 day at home after probation with parking paid for. The role is offered on an initial basis of 3 months.
You will be joining a fast-paced finance team where accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement are key. As a Group Accounts Assistant, you'll play a vital role in keeping financial operations running smoothly, working closely with the Transactional Processing team and supporting the wider business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Reviewing employee expenses and credit card claims for accuracy, VAT compliance, and correct coding
- Preparing and processing payment runs, including BACS file creation and bank uploads
- Reconciling payments across ledgers and credit card systems
- Processing invoices accurately and efficiently into finance systems
- Supporting colleagues across the business with purchase order (PO) queries and setup
- Collaborating with integration teams to improve and standardise processes
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and strong internal controls at all times
- Providing cover for team members and working collaboratively to meet team goals
- Supporting ongoing finance transformation and process improvements
What We're Looking For:
- 1-2 years' experience in an accounting or expenses role
- Solid understanding of reconciliations and double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience working with accounting systems (SAP preferred)
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Part-qualified AAT (or equivalent) desirable
- Good standard of education, including numeracy and literacy
- Intermediate Excel skills (data handling, reconciliation support)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- High level of discretion and professionalism
- Adaptable, proactive, and team-oriented
