We are currently recruiting for a Costs Draftsperson who will be based in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the work they do, the service they provide and getting the best results for their clients.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Drafting bills of costs (using CostsMaster drafting software).
  • Providing dedicated costs support to colleagues, both within the Department and the legal business.
  • Working closely with colleagues and Department Manager within a team environment to ensure drafting expectations are achieved.
  • Maintaining awareness of claim lifecycles and ensuring that service delivery is maintained.
  • Ensuring colleague/management expectations and outcomes are met in a timely fashion.
  • Identifying and adhering to department/group objectives.
  • Showing initiative with ability to work within a team environment but autonomously (managing own caseload) and the capability to deal with complex matters.
  • Liaising with colleagues to maintain departmental working practices and procedures.
  • Understanding legal processes and documentation including internal case management system.
  • Being passionate and enthusiastic about our work.
  • Thinking independently and taking ownership of work.
  • Being agile/responsive to work and adapting to change and evolution within the business.

About You:

  • Degree level/Qualified Costs Lawyer (desirable)
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Bill Drafting role
  • Proficient in using CostsMaster drafting software to draft bills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and research skills
  • Good understanding of the CPR, relevant legislation, case law and costs industry regulations
  • Experience of using Proclaim case management system (desirable)
  • Diligence and high attention to detail
  • Personality and Tenacity
