Our client is a market-leading Defined Benefit pension transfer bureau. They work in partnership with regulated financial advisers across the UK, providing specialist DB transfer advice and analysis to the highest professional and regulatory standards.
Their advisers have access to the largest introducer bank in the UK, servicing over 1,700 regulated IFA partners and the business has advised on over £1 billion in pensions since it’s inception in 2016. That means a steady, high-quality pipeline of cases. You can focus on giving excellent advice instead of chasing new business.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced and qualified Pension Transfer Specialist to join their advice team. You'll give advice on Defined Benefit pension transfers and conversions, working closely with the paraplanning, analysis and compliance teams to deliver suitable, well-evidenced outcomes for clients.
Our client is flexible on working pattern. Preference is a hybrid rota with time in the office, but we will consider fully remote arrangements for the right candidate. Full-time and part-time applications are both welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Giving regulated advice on Defined Benefit pension transfers in line with FCA rules, including COBS 19 and the appropriate pension transfer analysis (APTA) requirements
- Reviewing and checking transfer value comparators (TVC), cash flow modelling and scheme information
- Holding fact-finding and advice meetings with clients, remotely and face to face where needed
- Producing clear, compliant suitability reports, supported by our paraplanning team
- Working collaboratively with referring IFA partners to keep clients and introducers well informed
- Keeping accurate, timely case records on our CRM
- Maintaining your CPD and keeping up to date with regulatory developments in the DB space
About You
- Holds the required pension transfer qualification (e.g. CII AF7 / G60, CISI or LIBF equivalent)
- Holds a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) and a current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS)
- Proven experience advising on Defined Benefit pension transfers
- Strong understanding of the FCA's DB transfer rules and the wider regulatory environment
- Clean regulatory record, able to meet FCA Certification Regime requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working and advising on defined benefit pensions.
- Experience with cash flow (Cash Calc) modelling and TVC (Selectapension) software
You don't need to know everything on day one. We value people who learn quickly and are keen to develop. You'll join a supportive, experienced team that will help you get up to speed with our processes and systems.
What We Offer
- Fully remote working
- Access to the UK's largest introducer bank, servicing over 1,700 regulated IFA partners
- A consistent, high-quality case pipeline, with no need to generate your own leads
- Flexible working: hybrid, fully remote, full-time or part-time
- Dedicated paraplanning, analysis and compliance support
- A supportive team culture with ongoing training and CPD
