About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a civil engineering and infrastructure project on behalf of our client. Working closely with the Main Contractor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale scheme involving highways, drainage, utilities, and earthworks. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly competent engineer looking for a long-term freelance assignment with a reputable contractor.
Project Scope
- Road and highway construction
- Deep drainage installation
- Surface water and foul drainage works
- Utility and service diversions
- Earthworks and infrastructure packages
- Extensive quality assurance and quality control requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying for various infrastructure works
- Managing and maintaining accurate site records
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design drawings and specifications
- Coordinating with the Main Contractor, subcontractors, and client representatives
- Managing quality assurance processes and completing inspection and test plans (ITPs)
- Producing and reviewing as-built records
- Monitoring progress and assisting with programme delivery
- Ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained on site
- Identifying and resolving engineering and construction issues
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on civil engineering projects
- Strong background in highways, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure works
- Experience working with Main Contractors
- Excellent understanding of QA/QC procedures and documentation
- Proficient with surveying equipment and setting out techniques
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
- Full UK driving licence
