The Role
The client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage up to three projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will come from a subcontracting background, accustomed to taking a hands-on approach and contributing beyond the standard Quantity Surveyor role in a fast-paced, practical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and managing cost estimates, budgets, and project forecasts.
- Monitoring project costs and maintaining financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducting tendering processes, including subcontractor and supplier management.
- Managing contracts and variations, ensuring compliance with agreements and client requirements.
- Collaborating closely with site teams, providing support across demolition, soft strip-out, and groundworks projects.
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and reporting as required.
- Providing commercial input to projects, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in demolition, strip-out, or groundworks projects.
- Experience estimating and managing projects ranging from £100K to £2M.
- Comfortable in a hands-on environment with a “get stuck in” attitude.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Attributes
