Assistant Group Financial Controller

Location: City of London (Hybrid – Monday, Wednesday & Thursday office-based)

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + Benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys staying close to financial reporting, group accounting and controls, while also gaining exposure to wider finance transformation and improvement projects.

The Role

Working closely with senior finance leadership and regional finance teams, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate group reporting, strong financial controls and effective finance processes across an international, multi-entity environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the monthly group close, financial reporting and consolidation process.
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting across the Group.
  • Supporting statutory reporting, tax, audit and wider financial governance requirements.
  • Assisting with technical accounting matters and maintaining robust financial controls.
  • Working with regional finance teams and senior stakeholders to improve reporting, processes and financial accuracy.
  • Supporting finance transformation, process improvement and wider Group Finance projects.

About You

The successful candidate will be a technically strong and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys working within Group Finance and taking ownership of complex reporting and accounting requirements.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA qualification.
  • Previous experience in Group Finance, Group Reporting or Financial Accounting.
  • Strong technical accounting and IFRS/GAAP knowledge. Experience with group reporting, consolidations and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience within a multi-entity or international environment.
  • Previous involvement in audit and statutory reporting.
  • Strong Excel and ERP system experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
