Management Accountant - 9 Month Contract

Β£70,000 - Β£75,000 + benefits
An established and value-driven organisation is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to provide contract support during a period of strategic change and project activity.
This is a broad and commercially focused finance role that offers exposure across financial planning, management reporting, business partnering, budgeting and forecasting, whilst supporting senior stakeholders in delivering informed decision-making.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
- Analyse financial performance, identifying key variances, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes.
- Partner with operational teams and budget holders to improve financial understanding and performance.
- Assist with the preparation of business cases and financial modelling.
- Deliver insightful reporting, dashboards and management information packs.
- Undertake financial due diligence and risk assessment activities.
- Support process improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects.
- Assist with the development of financial performance metrics and reporting frameworks.
- Contribute to governance, controls, audit activity and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with:
- Proven experience within management accounting, FP&A or commercial finance.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
- Experience producing management information for senior stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.
- Excellent business partnering and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently within a changing environment.
- Experience improving processes, reporting and financial controls.
Desirable (not essential) Experience
- Exposure to financial due diligence activities.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems and business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of value-for-money, impact measurement or programme-based funding models.
