The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and CFO, this role is within a highly successful and internationally recognised organisation operating in the entertainment world. The finance team supports a broad mix of activities spanning live entertainment, brand-related merchandise, product revenues, commercial agreements, investments, and wider private interests.

This role offers exposure to areas that many accountants wouldn't encounter in a more conventional finance position. You'll need to be excellent at the fundamentals: management accounts, reconciliations, cash flow, controls, and reporting, but there is considerably more variety here than the job title might initially suggest.

The Opportunity

Working closely with an experienced Financial Controller and a small, collaborative head-office team, you'll take responsibility for accounting processes while becoming involved across a broader range of financial and commercial activity. This is a hands-on role where you'll be expected to understand what sits behind the numbers and ensure the basics are done exceptionally well. You'll also have the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen reporting, and provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.

There are some less conventional elements to the position, including treasury, investment-related reporting, and financial matters relating to the wider interests supported by the head office.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Systems & Continuous Improvement: You'll be encouraged to look at how things are currently done and ask whether there is a better way, which could include:
    • Improving management information and reporting
    • Strengthening processes and financial controls
    • Making better use of the accounting software
    • Identifying sensible opportunities for automation
    • Improving Excel-based reporting
    • Documenting finance procedures
    • Helping the wider finance function become increasingly efficient
  • Cash, Treasury & Investments: Monitor cash positions and support cash flow forecasting. Assist with treasury activities across the wider organisation. Support banking arrangements and financial transactions. Prepare information relating to investment and other financial interests. Produce clear reporting for senior stakeholders and external advisers.
  • Commercial & Wider Business Activity: Depending upon requirements, you'll gain exposure to some unusual financial aspects of the organisation, which may include live entertainment related revenues, merchandise and product activity, commercial and licensing agreements, investment structures, private financial interests, and project-based commercial opportunities.

You don't need to arrive having worked across all of these areas - part of the attraction of the role is the opportunity to learn.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with curiosity and commercial awareness. You'll ideally be:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Experienced in producing monthly management accounts
  • Comfortable getting into the detail of balance sheets and reconciliations
  • Confident with cash flow and treasury reporting
  • Highly capable in Excel
  • Organised, accurate, and dependable
  • Able to communicate comfortably with a variety of stakeholders
  • Naturally inclined to improve processes rather than simply inherit them

Experience within music, media, entertainment, sport, creative industries, or family-office environments would be useful, but it isn't essential. What is essential is a can-do, hands-on, and engaging approach.

For the right accountant, this could be a very interesting place to spend the next chapter of their career.
