Closing date: 30/11/2026
Type: Full-Time
Location: London and Athens
Position: Homeschooling
Duration: December 2026 – April 2027, with potential for extension
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Overview
A busy private family is seeking a qualified and experienced tutor to support three children aged 11, 10 and 6.
The position will begin in London in December 2026, where the family will be based until February 2027, before returning to their home in Athens. The family expects to return to London for the Easter period in 2027.
The Role
While the family is in London, the tutor will take responsibility for homeschooling the three children, following their school’s British curriculum and ensuring they remain fully up to date with their academic programme. Support will also be available from the family’s education adviser where required.
The successful candidate will bring learning to life through creative, engaging and innovative teaching methods, adapting lessons to each child’s individual interests, strengths and needs.
The children are happy, curious and enthusiastic learners who enjoy discovering new things and respond particularly well to stimulating, personalised learning. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator to work closely with a family and provide a genuinely tailored educational experience.
Hours
- London: Approximately eight hours per day, five days per week.
- Athens: Approximately three hours per day after school, plus one day at the weekend. During this period, the focus will be on academic support, consolidation and enrichment alongside the children’s normal schooling.
Household & Accommodation
The family employs a fully staffed household team. The tutor will work collaboratively with the family and other members of the household, including rota nannies who care for the children and their two younger siblings, aged two and a baby due in January 2027.
Teaching will take place in the family home.
Accommodation is available in both Athens and London if required, although a London-based tutor would be preferred.
The family has a dog at home in Athens, so the successful candidate should be comfortable around dogs.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified and experienced in teaching the British curriculum.
- Confident teaching children across different primary and early secondary age groups.
- Creative, energetic and able to make learning engaging.
- Well organised, with the ability to plan and deliver an effective, individualised programme.
- Warm, patient and encouraging, while maintaining appropriate academic structure and expectations.
- Flexible and comfortable working collaboratively within a busy, fully staffed private household.
- Able to travel between London and Athens.
