A busy family are looking for an experienced and professional SEN Rota Governor with a mature approach, to work on a rota basis (7 days on/14 days off) caring for one child (born February 2015). This is a rewarding opportunity to join a fully staffed household, offering a high level of professional autonomy, extensive travel opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful difference to a child’s development and wellbeing.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with ASC and ADHD. They will be energetic, proactive and engaging, with a good sense of humour, plenty of initiative and a calm, patient approach. The child thrives with consistency, structure and positive support, so the Rota mentor must be confident in setting clear boundaries, promoting positive behaviour and supporting emotional regulation when needed.

Excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills are essential. There is a significant level of autonomy within the role and the successful candidate must be confident working independently, whilst also collaborating closely with the wider nanny team (the child has two younger siblings, each with their own nanny) and other household staff. This is a highly professional position within a well-established household team.

Previous rota experience would be advantageous, although candidates with strong relevant experience in SEN childcare, education, behavioural support, youth work, coaching or similar specialist support roles are encouraged to apply.

As this is a fully staffed household, the primary focus of the role is the child’s care, development and well-being. During school hours, the Rota Governor will be responsible for administrative duties, planning activities, organising schedules and preparing for evenings, weekends and school holidays. The ideal candidate will enjoy creating engaging experiences and activities tailored to the child’s interests and needs, including active, outdoor activities where appropriate.

The Rota Governor must be happy to travel, as the family regularly spend time in Europe and travels internationally during school holidays.

Candidate Profile

  • Calm, grounded, and emotionally intelligent, with a natural ability to build trust.
  • Able to balance warmth and empathy with structure and set boundaries.
  • Professional, discreet, and comfortable working within a high-net-worth family environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and happy to travel internationally.
  • UK curriculum experience strongly preferred.

Location & Accommodation

London and Guilford: The family divide their time between two locations. Accommodation comprises a private bedroom and bathroom, either within the family home or in the staff apartment.

Travel:

When travelling with the family, en-suite accommodation will be provided or based in a staff apartment.

Contract & Package

Full-time, 12-month contract (renewable). Starting salary £70,000 gross per annum, rising to £75,000 after a successful probationary period. Travel and accommodation provided when with the family.
