Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia — Part Time, Nights (12 hours/week every Friday and every third weekend of the month).
Job Summary
The Crisis Clinician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). Work is often performed in an Emergency Department setting and can be completed via telehealth.
Essential Functions
- Provides crisis assessment and referral services.
- Facilitates and supports patient and/or family de-escalation, as well as patient safety planning.
- Completes psychosocial assessments, assigned screenings, and discharge planning.
- Knowledge of local resources and family support services to collaborate with community and state facilities.
- Participates in continued education and in-service training.
Education
- Bachelors in social work (required)
- Master of Science in Social Administration (preferred)
Licensing & Certifications
- Must have one of the following: (required)
- Licensed as a Social Worker in state of practice
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – required for employment in Ohio and Kentucky
- Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA)
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) (preferred)
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) (preferred)
Experience
- 1 year of experience in healthcare, social services, or human services setting (required)
