About the role
The Head of Social & Community owns BON CHARGE's social media and community function globally. The purpose of this role is to turn social media into a true brand-building and community growth engine, moving social on from a side function into a core driver of brand desirability, customer love and commercial outcome. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role owns social strategy, voice, content direction and community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and emerging platforms. The role leads the Community & Social Engagement Coordinator (and Social Content Producer as the team scales), and partners closely with the Content Manager, Creative, Performance, CRM, PR and B2B functions to make sure social and community work amplifies, and is amplified by, the wider marketing engine. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone with deep platform expertise, premium brand instincts, strong trend awareness, and proven community-building experience. The right person can move from strategy to execution at pace, and is as comfortable presenting to founders and exec as they are briefing a creator or shaping a comment-section response.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Strategy and Brand Storytelling: Own the global social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and emerging platforms, aligned to brand, commercial and customer objectives. Define and protect BON CHARGE's tone of voice, visual identity and storytelling pillars on social, in partnership with the Creative team and founders. Translate brand campaigns, product launches and key wellness moments into platform-native social storytelling that builds brand desirability and drives consideration. Identify cultural, platform and wellness trends early and translate them into timely, on-brand activations within a working week.
- Community Building and Engagement: Set the community strategy, including how BON CHARGE shows up in comments, DMs, lives, AMAs, giveaways and community-led moments. Manage the Community & Social Engagement Coordinator, setting response standards, escalation protocols, tone guardrails and SLAs. Build relationships with our most engaged followers, advocates, ambassadors and adjacent wellness communities, turning followers into advocates and advocates into ambassadors. Partner with PR and Partnerships on creator, practitioner and ambassador integration into the social and community ecosystem.
- Content Direction and Calendar: Own the social content calendar across all owned platforms, aligned to the broader BON CHARGE marketing calendar. Brief and direct social content production (in-house, ambassadors and creators), ensuring every asset delivers against strategy and brand standards. Partner with the Content Manager on shared moments (launches, sales, key wellness moments) so campaign narrative carries cleanly from email and blog into social. Maintain quality control over every piece of social content before it goes live.
- Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Partnership: Build and lead the social and community function, hiring and developing direct reports (Coordinator, Social Content Producer and any future additions). Set quarterly objectives, performance standards and growth plans for the social and community team. Partner with Performance, CRM, Content, PR, B2B and Creative to ensure social and community work amplifies, and is amplified by, the wider marketing engine. Represent the social and community function in marketing leadership meetings, exec reporting and founder reviews.
- Performance, Insight and Reporting: Define and own the metrics that matter for social and community: reach, engagement quality, follower growth, share of voice, sentiment, community response time and contribution to revenue and CRM growth. Report weekly on performance against those metrics, with clear actions and learnings. Surface social and community insights (sentiment shifts, emerging trends, recurring objections, product feedback) into Content, CRM, Product and CX teams. Run regular competitor and category audits on social to keep BON CHARGE ahead in the wellness technology space.
Key Requirements

- Deep platform expertise across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, with a track record of native-first creative work that drives brand growth.
- Demonstrated community-building experience, with examples of turning followers into advocates and advocates into ambassadors at scale.
- Premium brand instincts: able to lead a high-end, science-backed wellness brand without losing accessibility or warmth.
- Strong trend awareness and fast execution.
- Comfortable shipping cultural moments inside a working week.
- Strong social storytelling capability across short-form video, static, copy, and live formats.
- Proven experience hiring, managing and developing social, community, content and creator teams.
