We love the idea of people enjoying our dishes without thinking they have sacrificed an ingredient or flavour in order to conform to the latest health fad. The Bombay Story team are passionate individuals with big personalities who love service excellence delivered in our unique upbeat and vibrant style.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Tandoori Chef for an authentic Indian Restaurant.

The Role:

  • Produce all Bombay Story meals and other menu items to the highest standard in line with the recipe and build cards.
  • Maintain the highest of standards at all times in line with our Kitchen SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Work in an orderly and tidy manner at all times.
  • Follow our stock rotation guidelines.
  • Attend daily meetings with your team to ensure detailed communications are a regular occurrence as well as to support the motivation and drive of the whole team.
  • Continue with your personal development within the Bombay Story team and partake in training and support sessions when scheduled.
  • Work safely with all equipment on site and make sure the instructions are followed.
  • Maintain the highest of cleanliness standards for the premises and your own personal hygiene.
  • Strictly adhere to our HACCP (Health & Safety and Food Hygiene) procedures and ensure any paperwork you are responsible for is filled in and up to date.
  • Convey positive energy with a friendly and professional approach to influence the way our customers feel.

Skills & Competences:

  • A passion for the food industry and demonstrate your experience from previous positions relative to a sous chef position.
  • Accomplished professional chef preferably with Indian / Tandoor experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with a tandoor oven preparing various types of naan bread including Puri, Chapati, Bhature, and Paratha.
  • A good understanding of IT and POS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Fine dining - Indian restaurant.
  • English as a first or second language (spoken, written, and reading).
  • Well-groomed and presentable.
  • Discretion and Loyalty.
  • The ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • Flexible working hours (including working on bank holidays).
  • Any necessary working permits.
