The Senior Waiter will assist the Restaurant Manager and supervise service in the restaurant, taking responsibility for service during shifts. Our customers mean the world to us, so we expect the supervisor to influence the team's behaviour to bring out their best.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Greeting customers and offering restaurant information
- Answering questions about menu offerings
- Processing food and drink orders
- Carrying food and drinks from the kitchen to tables
- Preparing bills and processing payments
Although it may seem simple, it’s an important job that ensures our restaurant’s efficient and smooth operation.
The Role:
- Ensure that service is performed professionally and as specified by the Restaurant Manager
- Provide excellent wait service to ensure customer satisfaction
- Take customer orders and deliver food and beverages
- Make menu recommendations and share additional information with patrons
- Be fully conversant with every dish served in the restaurant
- Communicate with other restaurant staff and departments
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in keeping team morale up through social and educational events
- Ensure Company Policy, Vision Statement, and Departmental Objectives are followed
- Assist with mise en place and monitor task completion
- Take responsibility for service in your area during shifts
- Assist in preparing training programmes, briefings, and SOPs
- Manage the team on a daily basis, especially on managers' days off and holidays
- Implement necessary training for the team and onboard new staff
- Maintain the highest standards in line with SOPs
- Manage and control all FOH inventories, including cleaning products and packaging
- Control staff administration, including rotas and holiday forms
- Manage 3rd party contractors and maintain sound records
- Hold daily meetings with your team for communication and motivation
- Continuously monitor and support the personal development of team members
- Manage maintenance of all equipment and contracts with 3rd parties
- Maintain cleanliness standards for the premises and team hygiene
- Adhere to HACCP procedures and ensure paperwork is up to date
Skills & Competences:
- Experience in the personality department is key
- A passion for the food industry
- 1-2 years previous experience in fast casual high street food brands is preferable
- Positive, happy, and hard-working attitude
- An understanding of IT and POS systems
