We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead Licensed Engineer (B1/C) to oversee the MRT (Structures) and Structures/Engine Workshop under the B and C ratings within BAS London. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional who possesses comprehensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes, specifically focusing on structures. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring all maintenance tasks comply with regulatory standards and company policies. Responsibilities

  • Lead the MRT (Structures) and Workshop engineering team to ensure effective maintenance and repair operations.
  • Ensure all structural maintenance activities comply with aviation regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks for aircraft structural components.
  • Develop and implement procedures to optimize workshop operations and enhance team productivity.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members to resolve complex structural engineering issues.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols across all workshop activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate seamless maintenance processes.
  • Review and approve maintenance documentation and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

  • Licensed engineer B1/C with experience of metallic and composite aircraft structures within the aviation industry.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in an aerospace maintenance environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft structural maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks and safety standards (e.g., UK CAA, FAA, EASA, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures accurately.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and related engineering tools.
