Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Using the Bombardier Integrated Quality Management System.
- Participating in the process of writing and maintaining Technique (method) sheets for the testing of components, and liaising with level 3 Technician.
- Understanding and applying the company and industry statutory operational specifications for the evaluation of landing gear components, flap tracks, and carriages.
- Testing and verifying the condition of a diverse range of components passing through the NDT area, and performing these in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
- Maintaining a good level of NDT knowledge, preparing for assessments and examinations as required.
- Working and contributing to the team within the area, managing individual certification to keep it current and valid.
- Attending internal and external training courses, as required, to maintain and develop the relevance of certification.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment in the area as required to operate legally.
- Undertaking other duties as directed by the Head of Production or Section Manager.
- Complying with safety and environmental regulations and company procedures.
- Interfacing with production departments.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Monitoring operating methods to facilitate qualitative and quantitative improvements in the service provided to the customer.
- Maintaining liaison with all departments affected directly or indirectly by the assigned area of responsibility.
- Working within established company policies, procedures, and agreements.
Requirements for the role include:
- Magnetic Particle Inspection L2 (as required).
- Ability to travel and support Bombardier internationally.
- Overseeing L1 and other NDT Trainees and signing off hours.
- Good IT user knowledge (e.g., SAP or similar business software, Microsoft Office Excel).
- Basic knowledge of EASA/CAA/FAA requirements and other applicable aviation regulation.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety working practices.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.
- Education to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
- Good communication, planning, organization, and administration skills, with PC literacy.
- Ability to maintain performance under pressure.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of Management.
- Willingness to learn new skills to help the Company achieve its targets.
