Je bent ambassadeur van je schip, het bedrijf en onze policies. Met een propere en veilige operatie, waarborg jij de efficiënte en veilige service waar Boluda Towage bekend om staat. Als kapitein voer je het bewind over de sleepboot en heb je autoriteit over allen die aan boord zijn. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de veilige navigatie in de breedste zin van het woord en verzekert dat alle bemanningsleden in staat zijn om de noodzakelijke werkzaamheden aan boord uit te voeren. Je rapporteert aan de Operations Manager van de Schelde Area.
Je plant de werkzaamheden zo in, dat je de wettelijke rusttijden steeds kunt respecteren. Je hebt autoriteit en bent in staat beslissingen te nemen wanneer nodig met betrekking tot de bemanningsleden, de sleepboot, veiligheid en omgeving, om vervuiling te voorkomen en waar nodig assistentie te vragen van de wal. Je verzekert dat er aan de geldende wetgeving en regelgeving wordt voldaan en dat de managementsystemen worden uitgevoerd. Je zorgt ervoor dat alle certificaten, administratie en rapportering op orde en geldig zijn. Je implementeert de HSE procedures en voorschriften, zoals beschreven in de vloothandboeken.
Je stuurt de bemanning aan en begeleidt hen op een consequente manier. Je motiveert hen en geeft constructieve feedback. Je houdt regelmatig teamvergaderingen met de bemanning, organiseert Fire & Safety drills en familiariseert nieuwe bemanning.

- Minimaal 2 jaar ervaring in een vergelijkbare positie
- Nautische kennis- en ervaring.
- In het bezit van de verplichte certificaten en documenten volgens de Belgische vlaggenstaat om in staat te zijn te varen als Kapitein aan boord van een Belgische sleepboot.
- Vaarbevoegdheid minstens ‘II / 3 Master near Coastal Voyages’
- Kennis van zaken door ervaring als sleepbootkapitein
- Ervaring met het varen met ASD systemen (schottels)
- Up-to-date kennis i.z. relevante managementsystemen
- Passie voor de maritieme sector
