About the role: As Business Development, you will be responsible for defining and executing Boltz’s commercial strategy, translating our scientific and technical capabilities into high-impact partnerships and revenue. You will own the full business development lifecycle, from identifying and shaping strategic opportunities to negotiating and closing complex partnerships with biopharma, biotech, and research organizations. You will work closely with the executive team, ML and scientific leadership, and product to align external partnerships with Boltz Lab’s long-term vision and roadmap. This includes structuring collaborations that span software licensing, research partnerships, and joint development programs, and ensuring that commercial agreements are grounded in scientific credibility and deliver real value to partners.
A core part of the role is building and scaling Boltz Lab’s go-to-market motion. You will develop deep relationships with decision-makers across industry, understand partner needs at a technical and organizational level, and position Boltz as a trusted, long-term collaborator rather than a transactional vendor. This role is ideal for a senior leader who combines strong commercial instincts with technical curiosity, thrives in ambiguous and fast-moving environments, and wants to play a defining role in scaling a category-defining AI platform for drug discovery.
About you:
- Experience in business development, partnerships, software sales or commercial strategy within biotech, pharma or life sciences.
- Proven track record of structuring, negotiating, and closing complex commercial and strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of the drug discovery ecosystem and how technology platforms create value for scientific organizations.
- Ability to engage credibly with both executive stakeholders and technical teams, bridging business objectives with scientific and product realities.
- Experience owning the full deal lifecycle, from opportunity identification through contract execution and ongoing partnership management.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to operate hands-on in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity startup environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Experience in AI-driven drug discovery, computational biology, chemistry, or scientific software platforms.
- Prior leadership experience building or scaling a business development or partnerships function.
- Familiarity with enterprise software sales, platform licensing, or research collaboration models in pharma and biotech.
- Experience working with early-stage or high-growth companies.
- Strong existing network across biotech, pharma, and related research organizations.
