Role Purpose
The BTEC Tutor will work as part of the education team to deliver the BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 courses as part of the 16-18 education programme. The tutor will teach BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma in Leading Community Activity and BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport Coaching and Development, as well as Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Coaching and Development) for learners accessing the extended diploma pathway. The post holder will also deliver a weekly Personal Development session to support learner wellbeing, employability skills and progression. The post holder will work in line with internal and external partner standards and operating procedures in terms of teaching, learning and assessment and will be expected to take holidays during non‑term time only.
Main areas of responsibility
- Teach, assess and support learners across a range of courses and levels.
- Monitor student attendance and progress, providing regular updates and data to the education team.
- Plan and deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment, including producing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials.
- Contribute to curriculum development, innovation and the creation of shared teaching resources.
- Support the internal quality assurance process in line with BWitC and LFE requirements.
- Represent the organisation at promotional, recruitment and marketing events.
- Demonstrate professionalism, technical competence and strong interpersonal skills at all times.
General Responsibilities

About The Candidate
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or PGCE or Cert‑Ed.
- HND/Degree in sport related subject.
- Qualified teacher status.
- Current FA Safeguarding Certificate.
- Current FA First Aid Certificate.
- Experience of working directly with young people.
- Ability to schedule and work to strict health and safety compliance processes.
- Exceptional organisational, communication and team working skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to work proactively using initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively across the Community departments.
- Ability to lead/instruct others.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
- Competent IT, computer and mobile technology skills.
- Flexible and positive attitude.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- FA UEFA C Coaching qualification.
- Experience of working in a football Club or CCO.
- Experience of working with vulnerable young people and adults.
- Full UK manual driving licence and access to a car.
- Category D Licence.

Compensation and Conditions
Salary: £20,000 per annum (fixed term, 40 weeks per year). Holidays are taken only during non‑term time. Holiday pay is paid monthly at 14.04% in addition to salary.
